Update:
Thanks to high relative humidity during the night firefighters have been able to get the upper hand on the Indian Creek fire. Due to more accurate mapping the fire is now 112 acres. The order for a Type 2 Incident Management Team (IMT) has been cancelled. The fire is burning in grass, brush and timber, and is moving towards the north and east. Local volunteer fire departments are providing structure protection.The Indian Creek fire was first reported on Thursday, August 8 around 7:45 p.m. The fire is burning approximately five miles northeast of Sheridan, MT in the Indian Creek area. The fire is estimated to be 150 acres and is growing in size.

Summary: Thanks to high relative humidity during the night firefighters have been able to get the upper hand on the Indian Creek fire. Due to more accurate mapping the fire is now 112 acres. The plan for today is to continue to receive incoming firefighting resources and place them in strategic locations with the intent to continue to build fireline and to contain the fire as quickly as possible. People are being advised to limit their travel on Wisconsin Creek and Indian Creek roads due to high fire traffic activity and firefighting equipment on the roads..
With the current dry weather conditions, officials are advising people to be cautious with fire when recreating outdoors. Make sure your fire is completely out. Stay on designated roads and trails with your vehicles, and extinguish cigarettes completely.
